Start position:

4000 BC. The settler is on a BG. I want to move it. First the scout goes to the mountian to the NE to reveal more land. Sea and a goody hut to the East. Move Settler to the hill East. Rename worker Capitol Worker. He starts mining.

3950 BC. Hattusas is founded. Starts a scout. The Goody hut gives us a warrior. Warrior to scout the jungle. Research on writing on min sci.

3900 BC. Scout finds silks, warrior finds wines. No lux problems here.

3750 BC. Warior pops hut and gets settler. It is in a nice spot, but 1 tile north is even better.

3700 BC. Hattusas builds scout and starts another. We meet the Ottomans. They know Bronze and Masonry. They do ask too much for it, no trades. Found Tarsus on the wines. It starts a curragh.

3650 BC. maps from a Goody hut. Up science to 100%.

3600 BC. Also Spices near. What a luxury.

3500 BC. Hattusas finish scout, starts settler.

3450 BC. I already had to up the lux-slider. Warrior ordered home.

3300 BC. Tarsus finishes curragh, start worker. We meet the Maya. They know warrior code, which the Ottoman’s don’t.. Trade Warrior code + 10 gold for my Alphabet. Trade with Ottomans: We get Ceremonial burial + Bronze working + Masonry for Alphabet + Pottery + Warrior code + 8 gold.

And then this:

Hattusas needs population as it’s building a settler. On the good side is, I down lux and up sci.

3150 BC. Tarsus finishes it’s worker. Starts curragh

3000 BC. A new Millenium. We have 2 cities. I have to up lux again, Hatussas grew to size 3, settler in 1.

2950 BC. Hatussas finished settler, starts another. I plan to settle on the yellow first, then red, then green.

2750 BC. Scout pops a hut with a warrior.

2710 BC. Tarsus finishes curragh, starts warrior.

Just in time:

Ugarit founded, starts warrior.

2630 BC. We learn writing. I now realise I can’t revolt to Republic, which was my goal. I start reseach on Philosophy.

2510 BC. Hatussas finishes settler, trains another.

Tarsus finishes warrior, trains settler.

Ugarirt finishes warrior, starts worker.

Trade writing to the Otto’s for Myst + 18 gold.

2430 BC. Not unexpectedly, the Ottomans settled in exactly the same spot as my red city. It will be mine someday. Move the settler to green spot.

Try a suicide curragh …

And it finds a coast 5 tiles further. 5 tiles = 2 chances to sink.

2310 BC. So close and yet so far away …

2270 BC. Found Harran on red spot. Start worker.

2230 BC. Maya know IW, but not yet writing or Myst. We trade Writing for Iron working + 10 gold.

AAAAAHHH !!!

There is Iron close, but due to my city-planning; I can’t get it. I cant build a city close to grab it in the 21 tile – rings.

Then I have to try something riskier.

2230 BC Hatussa builds settler, starts another.

2190 BC. Ottomans demand Iron Working. I have no army, I concede. ** Makes mental note: black list -> add Ottomans.

We learn Philosophy. I hope I’m the first. Possible techs: Maths in 17, Code of Laws in 21, Literature in 21, Map Making in 25, Polytheism in 25 and The Wheel in 9. I want to study the Wheel myself, so in hoping I am the fastest to Phil my options are MM or Poly. MM isn’t really that much needed yet, my curragh has found and reached a new continent to the West already. I choose Poly. And we are the first to research Philosophy !! Next tech: Monarchy.

2110 BC. Tarsus finishes settler, starts temple. I need larger cultural borders there.

We meet the guys in Green; Japan. They have the Wheel, but lack Writing and Myst. For the small price of The Wheel and 21 gold for college-fee I teach him how to write his name.

2070 BC. The Otto’s know Maths. Since I’m going for an Ivory location, I want it too. But in time I see the Otto’s already have settled on Iron hill, my preferred location. That is 2 cities Otto ! And I haven’t forgotten your demand. We’ll be in war soon. I still trade Maths + 30gold for Poly. We aren’t happy.

Because I let Harran go into disorder.

1910 BC. Founed Hattusha. Not in a good spot, but there aren’t a lot of better spots. I need to capture good cities from now on. Switch Hatussas from settler to temple.

1870 BC. Smoke – Jaguar demands Mystisicm. ** Makes mental note: black list -> add Maya. I give it him. Our curragh sees Dark-red borders.

1830 BC. Harran worker -> warrior.

Not many good sites to build the horses-city. It’s either white or purple.

And the last possible site (how awful)

I meet the Byz. They know nothing and have no gold. Bye !

1750 BC. Build Horse-City on White spot. Starts warrior

1675 BC. Hatussas finishes temple. Starts barracks. Barbarian horse arrives next to Ugarit. Research at full speed (80%) at Monarchy.

1650 BC. Barb horse defeats 3/3 fortified warrior unscratched and …

** Makes mental note: black list -> add Libyans.

Whip barracks in Hatussat.

1625 BC. Hattusas Barracks - > Spear. Whip Spear in Ugarit.

1600 BC. Ugarit Spear -> worker. Harran warrior -> temple.

1525 BC. Hattusas Spear -> archer

1500 BC. Horse-City Warrior -> worker

1475 BC. Ottomans know MapMaking. Be happy with it, I’ll get it through pointy-stick research.

1450 BC. Hattusas archer -> settler. There is a nice island just north of our land. Tarsus Temple -> curragh. Now also Japan and Maya have MapMaking. Trade Maths for MM + 33 gold. Change Tarsus to Galley.

1400 BC. Ugarit worker -> temple.

1350 BC. Hattusas Settler -> archer

1300 BC. Galley finished in Tarsus. Start spear. Move settler in Galley and to the Island. I’ve met Babylon a few turns earlier, but they look so much like Byzantinians I didn’t notice. They are far behind still. Otto’s have Construction.

1275 BC. Hattusas archer -> archer. Horse city worker -> temple

1225 BC. Galley carrying settler is now near sea. Going in next turn. Anxiously awaiting it’s sinking or not. Japan now knows Philosophy, my monopoly is broken. Trade it to Byz for 63 gold.

1200 BC. Tarsus Spear -> rax. Whip temple in Harran. Galley with Settler now at sea.

1175 BC. Hattusas archer ->  Settler . Harran Temple -> harbor. Galley survived.

There are 2 ways to get 2 cities on that island; blue and red or blue and green. I go for Blue and red, to not waste the BG tile.

But it isn’t going to happen, as next turn 1150 BC the Byz founded Smyrna:

So I’m going for the tile North of the fog. Change settler in Hattusas to archer.

1125 BC. Hattusas archer -> archer.

1100 BC. Found Island city of Aleppo, starts worker.

1050 BC. Monarchy in 2. Starve many cities for 1 turn to get it in 1. I need It and I need it badly.

1025 BC. We learn Monarchy. Switch to Currency.

Hatussas archer -> Archer. Revolution. 3 turns of Anarchy; not too bad. Hire scientists and entertainers.

1000 BC. The start of the 3rd Millenium. Sell Monarchy to the Maya for Code of Laws + 102 bars of gold plated latinum. Ottomans want way too much for their Construction, so no deal with them.

975 BC. The Ottoman’s have started the Statue of Zeus. I want to attack them before it finishes.

In the Year 950 BC the Hittites want a king. Rik Meleet the 13th I chosen to be the first king of the Hittite Monarchy. To celebrate this the residents of Hattusha build a harbor in a blink of an eye, costing the nation 52 gold.

925 BC. Hattusha harbor -> worker. Istanbul completes Oracle.

900 BC. Tarsus barracks -> archer. Rush a harbor in Harran.

875 BC Iron won’t be ours till very long, so no use building warriors to upgrade. Harran start rax.

800 BC. Switch Hattusas to Mausoleum.

750 BC. Aleppo finishes worker, starts spear.

730 BC. Ugarit temple -> walls.

710 BC Maya demands 35 gold for it. I pay. ** Makes mental note: black list -> add Maya. Wait; they were already on the black list. Babylon finishes the colossus. Hattusha worker -> granary. Sell Babs Polytheism for 75 gold. Byz the same for 71 gold.

Buy construction from Maya for 19gpt + 100 gold. I don’t want them involved in the upcoming Hittite-Ottoman war.

570 BC. Currency is around, both by the Maya and the Ottoman’s. That will be the spoils of war for me.

510 BC Babylon demands Monarchy. No way. War is declared. Instant war happyness. Makes mental note: black list -> add Babylon.

Build embasy with the Byz for 34 gold. Sign them into an alliance for 26 gold. They are still unaware of the existence of the Ottoman’s and the Maya. I then sell Byz Monarchy for 76 gold. Sell Monarchy to Japan for HBR and 55 gold.

Sell HBR to Maya for Currency + 8 gold. We are in the Middle Ages.
