The late 80's the Vickers Viscount was a regular visitor to Maastricht-Aachen Airport. They were operating at that time for Virgin Atlantic (which started not long before). As far as I remember the idea was that they could feed in this way the transatlantic flights of Virgin Atlantic from London to the US.
