'Open' lighters:

ADVICE:
Using lighters for the first time is in many cases a quest to find the right way to open it. Handling it the wrong way causes in many cases broken parts. Not a job for experts if you know the right way.

At this page man can find more about opening his lighter. Many reply's on my site were concerning opening all sorts of lighters. Many times this beauty bought on a fair or a sale, without info how to open the thing for maintenance or even filling (butane / fuel / flint / battery).

Picture: Info:
The Ronson Comet. Turn the top of this lighter left to open it. Here you can change the flint, and place two spare flints.
The Ronson Premier MK-II. Place your nail between the top of the lighter and the regulator. Pull at this side the top off. You only have to do this with the lighter to clean the burner.
The Ronson Viking (butane - piezo ignition). Place your nail between the segment assembly and the casing of the lighter. The segm.assembly will turn open (but donīt come off). You need to do this for filling the lighter with butane.
The SilverMatch Compound (butane). Push the top of the lighter to the front. You need to do this for replacing the flint and the whole gas-tank.
The SilverMatch Convertible (butane). Push the top of the lighter to the back. You need to do so for replacing the flint and filling the tank with gas.
The SilverMatch France (butane). In front of this lighter there is the regulator. The centre of it is somekind of button. Press this centre in while you peel off the side of the lighter. You need to do so for replacing the flint and for replacing the gas-tank.
The KW Classic Novo (butane). Pull off the casing of this lighter. At the bottom you can see the inletvalve, the regulator and the screw for replacing the flint.
