TANITA (inside elect./tank
(l); lighter (r))
You have to master a lot of techniques, restauring lighters. Man has
to know about liquid gas; master soldering; master air-brushing; master
electro-plating; has to be leather expert etc.etc. This part of the
lighter-site deals about another technique, electric ignition. At 'ignition
sorts' you can see a lot of different possibility's how to ignite the
gas of your lighter. The one I handle here is the '12 V. with
condensator' one. Lighters with this system are really refined.
Just one single, silent, spark will ignite the flame. Delicate piece of
machinery. However, after quite a period of time it's possible this
lighter needs more battery's over a shorter period of time. The battery
goes down even not using the lighter!
If this is the problem with your lighter as well, it is time to
replace the condensator of the lighter. As an example I've shown (on
top) the TANITA Celdon 06 (but the technique of the '04' '05' '07', or the WIN
lighter, or the Ronson Electronic is the same).
Solution: Dismantle your lighter. The elec. condensator (elco)
has an '+' and a '-' entry. Take a good look how it's attached to the
switch and the battery, cause the new one has to be placed just the same
way (otherwise the elco will blow up). Look for it's capacity 330 micro
Farad and 16 V. Take the old one with you to the electroshop to search
for the right external size. This is important cause in lighters there
is little space for them. Solder the new one in the right place. Make
sure there are no electrical 'leaks' to the casing of the lighter. At
the same time clean the burner-nozzle. Remove the dust to get better
ignition. |
