Seats
For some time I have been looking to improve the seats in my car. First I tried with new foam and webbing. Sure, it worked, but only for about half a year. After that time, the seats sagged again. Also, whichever foam you chose, the backrest is on the low side and does not give a lot of lumbar support. I have to admit that now I replaced the foam of the backrest the seats are pretty good. But still the support could be a bit better.
So then what? A couple of aftermarket seats? I went to a shop that has lots of seats. None fitted.
Another option is to fit Mazda MX5 seats. Or Pontiac Fiero seats. The Fiero seats are supposed to be a bolt-in job. Well, the 12th of march I went to Fiero Innovations, one of the few people at this side of the pond that specialize in the Pontiac Fiero. Here are some pictures that show these seats. I am quite sure they will fit in the MG. Colors can be chosen, as can the upholstery material: cloth, leather, combination. You name it.
Prices are between 250-300 euros for a set of second hand seats, incl. runners. Re-upholstered in cloth they come at around 450 euros, in leather they go at 850. It depends on your choice of cloth or leather; it can be more expensive.
The company that does these seats and much more for the Pontiac Fiero is called Fiero Innovations. Their website is http://www.fieroinnovation.nl/

Picture 1. The seats in plain black cloth
Picture 2. Fiero seats in black leather. I am not sure how this design would look in an MG B. But as you can see the seats sit very low. The floorpan of the Fiero is similar to the MG B one: flat. And the roofline is low. Headrests are fixed. Phil Earl from the MGOC has tried these seats with seat covers from Mr. Mikes and is very enthusiastic about them.

Picture 3. The underside of the leather seat. The runner and slider combination looks lower than that in the MG B. More compact. The seats sit a lot firmer. Even the old ones are still firm. And they "grab" you far better than the B seat will.
Picture 4. ...who ever said that Fiero seats were hard to get?

There are loads of them, in lots of possible combinations.
