Prodigy Effect

1. This is a cool effect that was inspired by the "Prodigy: Fat of the land" CD cover... Basically it makes the image look like its moving towards you... Pick out your favorite picture, (i.e. a car, an animal...) Make sure the image is in RGB mode. You can check by clicking on Image and then Mode. |

2. First, make a selection around the area of the image you want to keep clear. |

3. Then, make a quick mask (Press Q) |

4. Apply a gaussian blur arounr 13 or 14 for large images, choose 9 or 10 for small images. In this tutorial, I used 10 pixels. Click OK. |

5. Now use the Sprayed Strokes filter (Filers -> Brush Strokes> Sprayed Strokes). Use the standard settings: Stroke length 12, Click OK. |

6. Now go back to Standard edit mode. Inverse your selection. (Select -> Inverse selection.). Apply a Radial Blur (Blur method: zoom, amount 40) , and there you go! |
