     Blurry Background

1.
How to create those blurry spacey backgrounds?

    2.
Create a new file and draw some circles in a new layer. (You can create a circle by using the round selection tool. Hold SHIFT to create a perfectly round circle, and afterwards, use EDIT > STROKE).

Which color you use for doing this, doesn't really matter. Now, take any picture, and make a couple of copies of this file. Transform them to a color you like by using
IMAGE > ADJUST > HUE/SATURATION
(Check Colorize)

    3.
Now we are going to fill the circles partially. Click, using the magic wand tool, in one of the circles. You can move the selected part (Using the Move (V) tool) to one of the pictures. You can see the copied selection on the picture. Now drag the selection to an interseting part of the picture, and copy (CTRL-C) it.
Go back to the picture with the circles without loosing the selection there, and paste (CTRL-V) you selection.
    4.
Don't fill all circle parts.

    5.
Now, merge all layers of the selection. Select de top layer and press CTRL-E, untill all layers are merged, except for the layers with the circles. It is necessary to keep this layer apart.
    6.
Click on the eye icon of the circle layer, making it invisible. Select the top layer and make it a bit blurry by using :

FILTER > BLUR > BLUR MORE

Repeat this three times.

    7.
Now, lets create the spacey part of the image. Use:

FILTER > BLUR > MOTION BLUR

Adjust the angle and distance to your own liking.

    8.
You can also apply the last two steps to the original circle layer. This is used for creating a sort of lens flare effect.

Now, you can add for example some text, or use your imagination to come up with something!

Have fun and good luck!
