Title: Ordinary
people
Author: Judith Guest
Genre: fiction
Rating:
If you want to be swept away and read and read and read, pick up this book with believable characters in a really profound
story.
Just a magnificent book. A sort of Catcher
in the rye, but then ten times better.
Conrad Jarrett is a 18 years old man, who lost his brother a year before and
doesn't know how to live with that. He tried to take his own life and the
book begins when he is at home trying to live a normal again. He's not the only
one struggling though. His parents are having a hard time also; They have lost
one son, and were close of losing the other one too. They still have to adjust
to the situation and pick up the pieces of the life they had "before".
As I said: this book is brilliant. You feel what the characters feel, you see
what the characters see, you are one of the family for as long as you're
reading. Very convincing, very real, very true.
