Title: Angels
Author: Marian Keyes
Genre: humor/romance/"chick-lit"
Rating:
I have to say in all honesty it is a real "women's" book. That said,
it is also a very funny book.
Maggie Garvan (Walsh) just found out her husband has an affair with
"Truffle woman". In her anger she sets off to LA, Hollywood to
"take some down time" at her best friend Emily, a scriptwriter waiting
for her big break. In the month she is there all sorts of crazy stuff happens.
Trying to fit in the LA lifestyle she gets herself in the weirdest situations
helped by some of the strangest people. All through her stay the question
remains: is she ever getting back with her husband Paul Garvan (Garv for short).
Well, this book is not one of the finest literature written, but that is not the
intention. It is a great story for everybody who wants to have an easy read and
get a good laugh. I think that is the only pretension the book has and it's
enough for me!
