Atlantic Wall in the Netherlands

near Baupunkt 75 (Schnellbootbunker).


 

The picture above shows the huge Schnell/Raum-bootbunker.

This bunker is the biggest bunker in IJmuiden. The roof and the walls were constructed from two metres thick steel-concrete. Onley parts of the bunker are drawn on the left. There was space for 18 ships.

The bunker was 250 metres * 100 metres big. When the german army capitulated in 1945 the bunker was still under construction. The picture below shows the left-side of the the construction.

The picture on the left was made in a harbour in Norway and shows two "Schnellboote". It is a fast ship for patrolling and engaging.
